There are no known issues between Content Notify and other plugins or themes at this time.
Most of the time, any issues that do arise during the operation of the plugin are to do with hosting or email delivery.
If your hosting account isn’t powerful enough and you’re trying to send out lots of alerts when publishing or updating a post, you may need to speak to your hosting provider. They should be able to tell you what your current usage is and how best to upgrade your account to meet your needs.
Email delivery can be a tricky thing to get right. Most email delivery issues are usually due to one of the following reasons though:
- Your hosting account has an hourly limit of emails your account can send out.
- Your website isn’t sending out email at all, from any plugin.
- Your host has disabled wp_mail, for some reason.
I’ve found the fastest way to troubleshoot this is to install the Post SMTP/Email Log plugin. Often, just installing the plugin can improve sending out email from your site. If it doesn’t, it has a handy email log where you can see if your email alerts are being sent out but are getting stuck somewhere along the way, or just not being received by the recipient. If it does appear to be sending messages correctly, you can then set-up Post SMTP to send email either via an SES service, such as Mailgun, or via SMTP. Doing this, usually solves most issues.
