Disabling Alerts Per Post

Updated

If you’re working on a post/page/custom post type and you don’t want to alert any subscribers about your updates for that post, you have a few options to disable alert emails from being sent out when you click the ‘Update’ button.

On every post type, Content Notify adds a ‘Subscription Options’ metabox. This provides two options:

  1. Don’t send alerts this time
  2. Don’t ever send alerts for this Post

Don’t send alerts this time

If you tick this checkbox, it will prevent an alert from being sent out when you click the ‘Update’ button.
This option will never save however, as doing so would prevent all updates from being sent. As such, this is a re-useable option. The next time you want to use this, you can tick the checkbox again and click the ‘Update’ button to prevent that update from going out.

Don’t ever send alerts for this Post

If you don’t want to ever send out alerts for this post/page/custom post type, ticking this checkbox will prevent all alert emails from being sent out for updates to this post.

Disable ‘Subscription Options’ Metabox

If you’d prefer this metabox not to appear at all, you can disable it by adding the post type to the ‘Disable ‘Subscription Options’ Metabox’ option found in Subscriptions > Settings > General. More information about this can be found in the Settings documentation.
